JACKSON -- Wilson H. "Willie" Lewis, 85, of Jackson died Monday, March 2, 1998, at his home.
He was born July 26, 1912, at Jackson, son of Edward R. and Mora Frances Ford Lewis. He first married Daisy Godwin Nov. 25, 1934. He later married Laura Schmuke Oct. 20, 1945. She died April 2, 1997.
Lewis had owned and operated Lewis Mobil Service more than 25 years. He then was co-owner of Lutesville Pallet Co. 27 years, retiring in 1984.
He was a charter member and past president of Jackson Optimist Club, member of First Baptist Church, was a member of the former Jackson Men's Garden Club, and was a volunteer with Jackson Fire Department.
Survivors include two sons, Ed Lewis of Jackson, Jim Lewis of Cleveland, Ohio; two stepsons, Joe and Bill Birk of Jackson; three brothers, Richard, Truman and Denver Lewis of Jackson; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 11 stepgrandchildren; and 14 great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
