TAMMS, Il. -- Wilma (Jordan) Miller, 88, of Tamms died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Wilma was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Thebes, Illinois, the daughter of James and Lucille (Hill) Jordan. She married Roy Eugene Miller on Aug. 13, 1954.

She taught 35 years starting at Thebes and taught business-education classes at Egyptian. She was a 1955 graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, earning her bachelor's degree in education. She earned her master's degree in 1975 from Southeast Missouri State University and was a longtime supporter of SIU. She enjoyed music and gardening. She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and played the piano in the kitchen band.

Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Roy "Gene" Miller of Tamms; daughter, Marcy (Rhine) Borel of New Iberia, Lousiana; son, Kent Jordan (Ginger) Miller of Sikeston, Missouri; grandson, Byron Kent Miller of Sikeston; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Jordan E. Miller; and brother, Dale Jordan.

Visitation for Wilma Miller will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Davy Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
