McCLURE, Ill. -- Wilma C. Matlock, 82, of McClure died Friday, Jan. 12, 2006, at home.
She was born Oct. 23, 1923, at McClure, daughter of Moses and Dona Johnson Colyer. She and Edward "Domer" Matlock were married Oct. 5, 1940, in Jackson, Mo. He died Aug. 12, 1993.
Matlock graduated from McClure Grade School. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Anna, Ill., and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Matlock worked for F.W. Woolworth as a salesclerk in Cape Girardeau, as a cook at Rosie Cafe in East Cape Girardeau, Ill., and at Ratliff Nursing in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three sons, Edward Matlock Jr. of Granite City, Ill., Dennis Matlock of McClure, Ryan Matlock of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Bonita Naughton of O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Vera Hart of Bethalto, Ill., Ruth Anderson of McClure; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
