Wilma A. Brown, 79, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 8, 1935, in Neelys Landing, Missouri, daughter of Hugh "Pood" and Lola Kay Craft Phillips.
She and Lee Roy Brown were married Dec. 11, 1954, at New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas.
Wilma worked for the former International Shoe Factory for 18 years, and three years at the former Litz Bros. Poultry, both in Jackson. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Loving survivors include her husband, Lee Roy, of nearly 60 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis E. and Terri Brown of Oak Ridge; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Welker of Marble Hill, Missouri; a sister, Roberta Cook of Jackson; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at New Bethel Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Revs. Don Slatton and Ervin Brooks officiating.
Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Cemetery Fund.
