OAK RIDGE -- Willis O. Ludwig, 84, of Oak Ridge died Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 26, 1913, at Oak Ridge, son of Charles F. and Josephine "Jossie" Dambach Ludwig. He and Oleda Schoen were married Dec. 25, 1937.
The couple moved to Chicago where he made aircraft engines at Chrysler during World War II. They moved back to the family farm in the St. John's community in 1948. He was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Earl and Wayne Ludwig of Jackson, Larry Ludwig of Woodson, Ill.; five sisters, Norma Huhn, Alta Proffer and Alpha Hoeh of Cape Girardeau, Nelta Petzoldt of Jackson, Cleta Janowski of Daytona, Fla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today, and Thursday at St. John's Church after 10:30 a.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
