GORDONVILLE, Mo. -- Bernard William Hulshof, 93, of Gordonville died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 16, 1908, at Oran, Mo., son of John Henry and Elizabeth Mary Roddin Hulshof. He and Louise Elisabeth Brands were married Oct. 15, 1935.
Hulshof farmed in the Gordonville area for most of his life and worked as a carpenter and mason for Elbert Masters Construction. While working for Masters, he helped build the fountain outside the Cape Girardeau County Courthouse in Jackson, Mo.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, James J. Hulshof of Martinez, Calif., Bernard Hulshof of Evans, Ga. and William Hulshof of Chesterfield, Mo.; a daughter, Anna M. Merchant of Gordonville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and four brothers.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. Parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m., and a rosary service will follow.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception, with Monsignor Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in the Portageville, Mo., Cemetery.
