Funeral service for Willie Elmer Goodrum was held Friday at H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, with Dr. Paul Currie officiating. Burial was in Maple Cemetery.
Goodrum, 85, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, at Heartland Care and Rehab Center.
He was born Oct. 5, 1909, at Shade Switch, son of George and Winnie Warren Goodrum. He and Alice Austin were married May 16, 1931, in Blytheville, Ark. She died July 3, 1961.
Goodrum farmed many years, and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Elmer Goodrum of Athens, Texas, George Goodrum of Jasper, Ga.; three daughters, Linda Jones of Jackson, Lupin Goodrum of Midtown, Calif., Saria Austin of Escondido, Calif.; a brother, George Goodrum; 10 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
