GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Willie Jean "Billie" Abernathy, 95, of Glenallen passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Woodland Hills of Marble Hill, Missouri. Billie was born July 22, 1922, in Glenallen, daughter of the late Marvin L. and Clara Lincoln Burns. On June 28, 1941, she married the love of her life, Charles David Abernathy. He preceded her in death April 23, 1998...

GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Willie Jean "Billie" Abernathy, 95, of Glenallen passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Woodland Hills of Marble Hill, Missouri.

Billie was born July 22, 1922, in Glenallen, daughter of the late Marvin L. and Clara Lincoln Burns. On June 28, 1941, she married the love of her life, Charles David Abernathy. He preceded her in death April 23, 1998.

At the time of her passing, Billie was the oldest member of the Glenallen United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Glenallen United Methodist Church Choir and the United Methodist Women. Billie was a homemaker and she was devoted to her late husband and her family. From her youth on up, she was a Christian and throughout her adult life worked in the church alongside her husband, Charles. Billie was a beautiful lady, always so joyful and happy -- she was a blessing to all our lives.

Billie is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann (Allen) Clark of Glenallen and Barbara (Jennings) Wilkinson of Marble Hill; two granddaughters, Regina Clark (Jonathan) Finch of Jackson and Rebecca Clark (Don) McFarland of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Connor Finch, Willie, John, and Jacob McFarland, all of Jackson; and loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and three sisters, Mary Hargiss, Ruth Nathaniel and Mae Anderson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kim Mitchell officiating. Interment will take place in the Glenallen Cemetery in Glenallen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to the Glenallen United Methodist Church.
