CAIRO, Ill. -- Willie B. Frans, 66, of Cairo died Sunday, Feb. 23, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 19, 1930, in Birds Point, Mo., the son of Wickliffe and Grayce Ballard Frans. He was a retired first mate for the Mississippi Valley Line Barge Co. and was employed as a security guard.
He is survived by a friend, Evelyn White of Cairo; a son, Les Frans of Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Sam Frans of Mounds, Ill., and Floyd Frans of Chicago.
Friends may call today, Tuesday, after 5 p.m. at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Olmsted, Ill.
