WILLIAM ZIMMERMAN

SCOTT CITY -- William Henry Zimmerman, 97, of Scott City died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 25, 1901, at Dongola, son of William Lee and Sophronia Jane Pierce Zimmerman. He and Lela Agnes Cauhorn were married Dec. 24, 1939. She died Dec. 25, 1996.

Zimmerman was a carman for the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Givens of St. Louis; a stepson, Charles Stone of Lawrence, Kan.; a sister, Mamie Cook of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Lance will officiate, with burial at the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
