BERTRAND, Mo. --William Theodore "W.T." "Dub" Woods, 84, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born May 12, 1921, at Essex, Mo., son of William Theodore Sr. and Florence Jane Pitts Woods. He and Billie V. Brown were married June 26, 1976.
He was a self-employed farmer and cattleman for over 40 years. After retirement he worked for the Missouri Bureau for the Blind and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, served as a committeeman on the ASCS board for Mississippi County and was a Doane Farm Panel member. He was a member of Bement Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a military policeman in Iran and Iraq.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William E. Woods of Columbia, Mo.; three daughters, Jo Ann Young of Cape Girardeau, Marilyn Doris Blanton of Sacramento, Calif., Connie Jane Arnold of Scott City; a brother, Tommy Earl Woods of Bertrand; three sisters, Mabel Peters of Bertrand, Ruby Little of Southgate, Mich., Norma Jean Matthews of Sullivan, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Norman Shepard and Rev. Delbert Bishop officiating.
Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo., with full military honors.
