WILLIAM WHISTLER

PERRYVILLE - William J. (Bill) Whistler, 80, of Perryville died Sunday May 23, 1993 at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born April 22, 1913 in Perry County, the son of Anton and Mary Alice Maddock Whistler. He married Lilian Mary Bert on April 6, 1934, and she survives.

Also surviving are three sons, William Whistler, Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Stephen Whistler of Chaffee, and Robert Whistler of Perryville; one daughter, Mary Welker of Perryville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A parish wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Church, with Rev. Edward Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
