William Seabaugh

SIKESTON, Mo. -- William B. Seabaugh, 93, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Nov. 15, 1910, in Patton, Mo., the son of Garrett and Emma Bollinger Seabaugh. He married Wanda Elizabeth Blunt in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on Nov. 10, 1937. She preceded him in death on May 17, 1994.

He served in the Home Guard during World War II and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He was a former member and past president of the Sikeston Jaycees and was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a scoutmaster in the Okeechobee District. He worked for Sherman-Williams Paint Company for 25 years. He also was a member of the Oran 25 Club.

He is survived by two daughters, Martha Winthrop of Percy, Ill., and Marian Green of Cape Giradeau; two brothers, John Seabaugh of Millersville, Mo., and Bob Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ruth Schlegel of Gordonville; two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother and four sisters.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel with the Rev. Harold Norton, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
