William Dale "Bill" Niemann, 62, of Athens, Ala., formerly of Jackson and Gordonville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009.
He was born Nov. 23, 1946, son of William John and Tavia Lange Niemann.
He was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville. He attended Gordonville grade school and graduated from Jackson High School. He attended Lebanon Church in Athens.
Bill and Madeline "Fay" Holand were married in 1972.
He was employed at Marquette Cement Plant and HWI in Cape Girardeau. He worked in security until his illness. He was involved in Boy Scouts and girls softball and taught hunter safety courses. He always enjoyed fishing and loved his dogs and horses.
The delight of his life were his granddaughters, Marisa and Morgan.
Survivors include his wife, Fay; children, Rodney (Stephanie) White, Jana Willis and daughters Marisa and Morgan, all of Athens; his parents, Bill and Tavia Niemann of Jackson; and a sister, Beth (Bob) McGregor of Cape Girardeau.
His body was donated to UAB Science Department of Birmingham, Ala.
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
