DONGOLA, Ill. -- William Henry Messemore, 81, of Dongola died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
He and Selma Barnhart were married Oct. 5, 1945, in Jonesboro, Ill.
Messemore had been a heavy equipment operator with Union County Highway Department. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and Operating Engineers Local 318. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Henrietta Sichling of Ullin, Ill., Louise Casper of Perks, Ill., Wilma Palmer of Wetaug, Ill., Sue Wright of Cobden, Ill., Agnes Herren of Cypress, Ill; a son, William Messemore of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Betty Baucum of Dawson Springs, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Martin officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
