CHARLESTON -- William Franklin Lockridge, 76, of Charleston died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Anniston, son of George and Lola Gardner Lockridge. He and Hazel Pike were married Aug. 8, 1942.
Lockridge lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1968. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He then was a U.S. Capitol policeman for 10 years in Washington. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Frank Lockridge of Hampstead, N.C.; two daughters, Sharon Loeser of Lenexa, Kan., and Linda Owen of Collierville, Tenn.; two sisters, Velma Sams of Dexter and Mildren Diebold of Kelso; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Richard Lause officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
