GIPSY, Mo. -- William H. "Willie" Lemons, 90, of Gipsy died Friday, Aug. 16, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 11, 1911, at Gipsy, son of Harvey and Carrie Skinner Lemons. He and Ethel Porter were married Jan. 14, 1936, at Gipsy.
Lemons was a custodian and school bus driver with Zalma Schools more than 20 years. He attended Berrong General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Truman Lemons of Cape Girardeau, Charles Lemons of Marble Hill, Mo., Ivan, Harold and Tommy Lemons of Zalma, Dean Lemons of Gipsy, Terry Lemons of Scott City, Mo.; six daughters, Dorothy Richmond of Bridgeton, Mo., Shirley Chesnut of Jacksonville, Fla., Ruth Hefner of McGee, Mo., Linda Seiler of Puxico, Mo., Peggy Stepp of Arab, Mo., Barbara Masters of Virginia Beach, Va.; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, two brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. LeeRoy Hefner, Eldo Eaker and Bob Porter officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery.
