HAYTI -- Funeral for William L. Jones of Springfield was held March 15, 2000, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Norman Sewall and John Dougherty officiated. Burial was in McConnell Bledsoe Cemetery near Nixa.

Jones, 75, died Monday, March 13, 2000, at Greene Haven Rest Home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Hayti, son of William and Josephine Jones. He and his wife, Berta, were married March 1, 1947.
Jones was a diesel supervisor with Frisco and Burlington Northern Railroads from 1947-84. He was a member of Walnut Lawn Church of Christ and the American Legion.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William Jones of Ozark; two daughters, Terry Black and Janet Ellison of Nixa; two sisters, Shirley Rhodes and Ruth Dunn of Chaffee; and five grandchildren.
