William Johns

ADVANCE, Mo. -- William Lee Johns, 75, of Advance passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

He was born Dec. 2, 1934, at Dover, Ark., son of Fred Samuel and Elsie Ford Johns. He and Bonnie Croy were married Nov. 23, 1957, in Tunica, Miss.

William was a farmer 45 years. He had also worked for Chevrolet in St. Louis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Dale Johns of Brownwood, Mo.; two daughters, Tamara Dee Wheetley of Dexter, June Ramsey of Cape Girardeau; three brothers; James Johns of Advance, Artis Johns of Bloomfield, Lamoie Johns of Chicago; a sister, Glenda Schoeder of Jackson; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
