William Howard Gentry, 85, of Marion, Illinois, formerly of Scott City, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at his home.
He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Glen Halbert and Pearl Collins Gentry. He married Patsy Ruth Hosea on Sept. 1, 1951.
William was a foreman for the Terminal Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy; three sons, Hal (Jean) Gentry of Clayton, Missouri, Terry (Gerrie Brinker) Gentry of St. Clair, Missouri, and Mark (Michelle Mangnall) Gentry of House Springs, Missouri; a daughter, Tammy (John) Dean of Park Hills, Missouri; six brothers, Lynn, Stan and Danny Gentry, all of Scott City, Mike and Dick Gentry, both of Cape Girardeau, and Steve Gentry of Leopold, Missouri; two sisters, Betty McKinley of Scott City and Connie Scales of Houston; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger Gentry.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
