PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William J. "Bill" Galeski, 72, of Perryville died Monday, May 13, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 5, 1929, at Kaskaskia Island, Ill., son of Charles John and Edna Carlyle Galeski. He and Floetta McDonald were married Oct. 19, 1949.
Galeski was an agriculture and livestock farmer, and a horse trader. He was a member of Perry County Saddle Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Jo Ann Brown of Sedgewickville, Mo., Pat Besand of Cape Girardeau, Sandy Powers of St. Louis, Terry Favier of McClure, Ill.; one son, Tony Galeski of Perryville, and fiancee, Ruth Heck of Perryville.
Also surviving are three sisters, Helisy Blow of Prairie Du Rocher, Ill., Rosemary Corcoran of San Lorenzo, Calif., Mary Long of St. Charles, Mo.; three brothers, Harold Galeski of O'Fallon, Ill., Virgil Galeski of Valmeyer, Ill., John Galeski of Perryville; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The wake will be at 6 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Because of flooding problems, burial will be at a later date at Kaskaskia Island Cemetery.
