ADVANCE, Mo. -- William "Bill" Ellis, 98, of Advance died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Heartland Care Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 11, 1902, in Flatwoods, Mo., son of Finis and Ella Johnson Ellis. He and Sadie Seabaugh were married March 7, 1925, at Jackson, Mo. She died Oct. 26, 1993.
Ellis was a retired farmer and a member of Advance United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Ellis of Cape Girardeau, William Ellis of Seminole, Fla.; two daughters, Karren Kidd of Whitewater, Mo., Mary Fox of Fenton, Mo.; a brother, Ben Ellis of Sedgewickville, Mo.; two sisters, Daisy Zimmerman of Advance, Grace Reid of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Advance United Methodist Church. The Revs. Tom Zych and Virgil Bunch will officiate. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
