JACKSON -- Funeral service for William Earl Morton of St. Charles will be held today at Baue Funeral Chapel there. Pat Campbell will officiate, with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
Morton, 60 years old, died Friday, March 22, 1991, at his home.
He was born July 10, 1930, at Imperial, son of Clarence and Dorothy Webb Morton. He and the former Dorothy Cooper of Jackson were married July 2, 1950.
Morton was retired from McDonnell Douglas Corp. He was a past president of Daniel Boone Barbershoppers, past patron of OES Chapter 242 in St. Charles, member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and Palestine Masonic Lodge 241. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Teresa Hunt of St. Charles; his mother, Dorothy Estes of Jackson; three brothers, Robert Morton of Jackson, Ronald Morton of Cape Girardeau, Nelson Morton of Kampsville, Ill.; two sisters, Marjorie Frost of Ste. Genevieve, LaFern Cockrell of Jefferson City; three stepbrothers, Kenneth Estes of St. Louis, J.R. Estes Jr. of Jackson, Donald Estes of Crestwood, and a stepsister, Mary Spurlock of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
