SCOTT CITY -- William Edward Amos, 83, of Scott City, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 12, 1911, in Allenville, son of Fritz and Carrie English Amos. He and Evelyn Klasing were married Jan. 31, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark.
Amos retired as a machine operator at Leming Lumber Co.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ronald Amos of Kelso; two daughters, Marilyn Rhodes of Cape Girardeau, Melba Williams of Scott City; 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City after 3 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
