PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service was held Wednesday for William A. "June" Duvall, 70, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Perryville, at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Granite City. He died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997.
He was born Dec. 14, 1926, in St. Mary's and was a resident of Granite City for 41 years.
He married Mary L. Nobus Oct. 19, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving both in World War II and the Korean War. He was employed by General Motors Corp in St. Louis for 32 years until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth's parish in Granite City, Granite City Elks Lodge 1063, VFW Post 113, Moose Lodge 272, and American Legion Post 0133 in Perryville.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Michael R. Duvall of Bismark; a daughter, Donna S. Hampsey of Madison; three brothers, Clarence Duvall of Ferguson, Melvin Duvall of New Haven and Richard Duvall of Jackson; two sisters, Nadine Branson of Washington, and Judy Ponder of Perryville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
