MCCLURE, Ill. -- William Doyle Kerr, 79, of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, June 9, 1992, in a hospital in Georgetown, Texas.

He was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Cypress, Ill., son of William Marsh and Effie Jane Kinslow Kerr. He and Sarah Cook were married Jan. 20, 1941, at Rolla.

The Kerrs lived in McClure from 1950 to 1975. He worked at the Purple Crackle about 20 years, retiring as day manager. They moved to Poplar Bluff in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Kerr of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Larry Kerr of Bastrop, Texas; a daughter, Karen Burris of Georgetown; a brother, Homer Kerr of Lawrenceville; a sister, Mary Alice Wright of Salem; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lindsey Cemetery here.
