CHARLESTON -- William Chalmers Palmer, 67, of Charleston, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born April 14, 1927, in Louisville, Miss., son of Clinton L. and Phalor L. Jernigan. He and Peggy Rosamond were married April 16, 1949.
Palmer was employed by Atteberry Dairy 22 years, and then with Delta Growers Co-Op, retiring in 1989. He was a member of VFW Post 4294. He served in the U.S. Army during World War IIl.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Palmer of Sikeston, Michael Palmer of Charleston; four daughters, Kathy Honeycutt of Jonesboro, Ark., Karen Amann of St. Louis, Sharon Thomas of Monroe, La., Terri Leible of Sikeston; two brothers, Clyde Palmer of Louisville, Warren Palmer of Charleston; three sisters, Helen Steinbeck of Barlow, Ky., Anita Johnson and Ann Morton of Charleston; 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Latham and Phil Nuernberger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
