William "Bill" Bane Jr., 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Southeast Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Bonne Terre, Mo., to the late William Bane and Dorothy Wolfbrandt Bane. William "Bill" Bane Jr., 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Bonne Terre, Mo., to the late William Bane and Dorothy Wolfbrandt Bane.

Bill was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Farmington, Mo., and Southeast Missouri State University. He worked at Southeast as computer operations supervisor many years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Judy Bane of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Kevin (Jackie) Scott of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Richard (Janet) Fredrick of Scottsdale, Ariz., Terry (Teri) Fredrick of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Susan (Brian) Taylor of Belleville, Ill., Lea (Tom) McLafferty of Ballwin, Mo.; and several loving nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and stepfather, Russell Fredrick.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Christian Service, Birthright or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church.
