WILLIAM ACORD

ZALMA -- Funeral service for William "Bill" Acord of Zalma will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Revs. Scott Payne and Keith Price will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Acord, 70, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 25, 1924, at Greenbrier, son of Carrie and Lillie Simmers Acord. He and Jane Hindman were married Dec. 21, 1944, in Advance.

Acord was a retired timber worker, and member of Brownwood General Baptist Church at Brownwood. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Franklin Acord of Marble Hill; two sisters, Pauline Tolbert of Sturdivant and Betty Hinkle of Advance.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.
