BLOOMFIELD -- William A. Hampton, 60, of Bloomfield died Thursday, June 29, 1995, at the Bloomfield Nursing Center.

He was born March 9, 1935, at Detroit, son of James and Elaine Stamback Hampton. He and Virginia Cox were married May 29, 1978, at Trenton, Mich.

Hampton was a retired meat cutter for the A&P Co. in Michigan. He was a member of the Hills General Baptist Church near Bloomfield.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Johnston of Dearborn, Mich., Mark Johnston of Ravenwood Park, Va., and Larry Johnston of Southgate, Mich.; a daughter, Karen Fadden of Lincoln Park, Mich.; a sister, Bonnie Jane McMurry of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Hills General Baptist Church. The Rev. Gerald King will officiate, with burial at the Hills Cemetery.
