DONGOLA, Ill. -- Willard Lingle, 73, of Dongola, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1993, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1920, near Dongola, son of Harvey and Nellie Beggs Lingle. He and Hazel Lentz were married Feb. 1, 1941. She died Jan. 11, 1982. He and Imogene Dillow Karraker were married July 8, 1982.
Lingle was retired foreman with Southern Illinois Electric Co-Op. He was a member of Dongola Church of Christ, and veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rodney Lingle of Dongola; a stepson, James Karraker of Mt. Zion; a stepdaughter, Beverly Magsamen of Elk Grove Village; a sister, Opal Decker of Morris; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Chapel in Dongola, with Daryl Busby officiating. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
