CHAFFEE -- Wilford "Bill" Beck, 72, Chaffee Route 1, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 28, 1925, at Silex, son of Oscar and Mary Edna Morris Beck. He and Frances Alma Hahn were married April 10, 1947...

CHAFFEE -- Wilford "Bill" Beck, 72, Chaffee Route 1, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 28, 1925, at Silex, son of Oscar and Mary Edna Morris Beck. He and Frances Alma Hahn were married April 10, 1947.

Beck owned and operated Beck's Body Shop from 1954-81. He was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, George and Gerald "Jerry" Beck of Chaffee; a daughter, Marie Schimpf of Chaffee; his mother of Hawk Point; two brothers, Tilford Beck of Hawk Point, Charles Beck of St. Peters; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father, a son, and a brother.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 3 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. Burial will be in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
