FROHNA, Mo. -- Wilbert W. Stueve, 92, of Frohna died Monday, April 27, 2015, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 14, 1923, in Frohna, son of Henry and Ella Lohmann Stueve. He and Gertrude Meinz were married April 6, 1947. She survives at the Lutheran Home.
Wilbert had been a farmer, raising hogs and livestock. He was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna and had been a church trustee.
Other survivors include a son, Clifford (Kathy) Stueve of Frohna; a daughter, Retha (Terry) Pfeiffer of New Wells, Missouri; four brothers, Martin, Harlan and John Stueve, all of Monrovia, California, and Melvin Stueve of Ontario, California; three sisters, Manda Petzoldt of Monrovia, Irene Wilson of Glendora, California, and Edna Moll of Deshler, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Cory (Jessica) Stueve, Kelly (Wes) Colbert, Vicki (Clayton) Helderman, Terri (Jeff) Peters, Cindy (Patrick) Johnston and Jamie (Stasi) Wachter; three stepgrandchildren, Scott Pfeiffer, Timothy Pfeiffer and Sarah Burgfeld; 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Carter, Kayla, Carson, Julia, Thomas, Lane, Tucker, Grady, Lilly and Jack; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Jenna and Beau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law, Charley Wachter.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg, Missouri.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church general fund.
