PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wilbert E. Lorenz, 85, of Perryville died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at Perry Oaks Manor.
He was born Oct. 28, 1915, at Friedheim, Mo., son of Joseph Henry and Frieda Bachmann Lorenz. He and Lillian L. Schamburg were married Oct. 19, 1941.
Lorenz was a retired foreman at International Shoe. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he participated in the men's and mixed choir. Lorenz was past president of the Peace Lutheran Church congregation in Conway, Ark. He is a veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, and a charter member of the Missouri National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Darryl Lorenz of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two daughters, Dianne Dickerson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Cynthia Massey of Edmund, Okla.; two brothers, Edgar Lorenz of Stockton, Calif., and Roy Lorenz of Perryville; a sister, Irma Hoffstetter of Perryville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Young & Sons Chapel from 3-8 p.m. today and 6:30-8:30 a.m. Friday.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Craig Otto will officiate, with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
