Welmar E. Koenig, 78, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., formerly of Farrar, Mo., died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Memorial Pembroke Hospital in Pembroke Pines.
He was born Nov. 29, 1924, son of John and Amanda Lorenz Koenig. He and Delores Bergman were married Oct. 26, 1947, in Pembroke Pines.
Koenig was a retired aircraft electrician. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 133.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Darlene Michna of Jupiter, Fla., Charlotte Wolfe and Kathryn Thibert, both of Pembroke Pines; four sisters, Frances Koenig of Jackson, Jane Short of Old Appleton, Mo., and Evelyn Zahner and Viola Guemmer both of Perryville, Mo.; five brothers, Ruben Koenig of Suisun City, Calif., Willis Koenig of St. Louis, Mo., and Oliver Koenig, Martin Koenig and Larry Koenig, all of Perryville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday Young & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery with military graveside services performed by American Legion Post 133.
