ANNA, Ill. -- F. Wayne West, 83, of Anna died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Union County Hospital. He was born July 1, 1916, in Anna, son of Benjamin Franklin and Marie Thompson West. He and Irene Hess were married Oct. 31, 1937, in Anna. West retired as owner of the former Mowery Electric Shop. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, and American Legion Post 344. He had also been active in Boy Scouts...

ANNA, Ill. -- F. Wayne West, 83, of Anna died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Union County Hospital.

He was born July 1, 1916, in Anna, son of Benjamin Franklin and Marie Thompson West. He and Irene Hess were married Oct. 31, 1937, in Anna.

West retired as owner of the former Mowery Electric Shop. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455, and American Legion Post 344. He had also been active in Boy Scouts.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jennifer Harwell of Magnolia Springs, Ala., Alice Wendling of Dongola; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today, and Saturday at Mt. Moriah Church after 10 a.m.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 3455.
