Wayne Alfred Fritsche, 72, of Shawneetown passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, with his three children at his side.
He was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Perryville, Missouri, son of Alfred E. and Amanda G. Lohmann Fritsche.
Wayne was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Missouri, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown. He worked more than 35 years at Shawneetown Feed and Seed, retiring in 2012. Wayne enjoyed farming, fishing, collecting antique toy tractors and attending tractor shows. However, he most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Loving survivors include three children, Kim (Neal) Dost of Shawneetown and Amy (Steve) Robinson and Scott (Leslie) Fritsche, both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Aaron and Austin Dost, Alexis Ruch and Devin Austin; and four sisters, Ardyth (Leon) Mueller and Edyth (Elbert) Roth, both of Farrar, Melba (Calvin) Versemann of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Sandy (Ed) Schilling of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Shawneetown
The family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the church or charity of choice.
