PAINTON - Wayne D. French, 79, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., formerly of Painton, died Friday, July 16, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Competition, to A.L. and Margaret Cook French.

On Aug. 10, 1940, he married Libby Painton in Painton. She survives.

French was a retired farmer, and a member of the French Village United Methodist Church in Hot Spring Village, Ark. He was a member of the Hot Springs Village Lions Club, where he also served on the administrative board.

Survivors include one son, Joe French of Painton, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m., today at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 10 a.m., at the Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, with Father Louis Henja officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
