ORAN -- Waymon Halford, 79, of Oran, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 11, 1917, in Reno, Ark., son of J.B. and Nannie Parker Halford. He and Cecile Brotherton were married Dec. 4, 1936. ORAN -- Waymon Halford, 79, of Oran, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 11, 1917, in Reno, Ark., son of J.B. and Nannie Parker Halford. He and Cecile Brotherton were married Dec. 4, 1936.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Norman Halford of Oran; a daughter, Margaret Kinder of Oran; a brother, Douglas Halford of Malden; three sisters, Genevieve Myers and Marie Chartrau of St. Louis, Maxine Bird of Sikeston; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Wayne Page, Jack Hargrave and Frank Husted officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
