DELTA -- Watson Russell Hester, 81, of Delta died Monday, April 7, 1997, at his home. He was born July 26, 1915, at Randles, son of Russell and Elzena Louisa Watson Hester. He and Mary Immogene Sandford were married May 5, 1938. Hester was a retired farmer and carpenter...

DELTA -- Watson Russell Hester, 81, of Delta died Monday, April 7, 1997, at his home.

He was born July 26, 1915, at Randles, son of Russell and Elzena Louisa Watson Hester. He and Mary Immogene Sandford were married May 5, 1938.

Hester was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, William, Watson and David Hester of Delta; two daughters, Nancy Stoffregen and Ruth Crader of Delta; two sisters, Jane Davis of Scott City, Laura Ina Hopper of Commerce; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother, and two sisters.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Naamon Eaker and Glen Golden officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.
