Warren J. Koehler, 90, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:38 p.m. Friday, Oct, 21, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born to the late Charles and Beulah Leona Richards Koehler on Oct. 4, 1932, in Caseyville, Illinois. He married Darla J. Rees on Sept. 3, 1954, in Chester, and she preceded him in death Nov. 3, 2016.
Warren worked at Chester Mental Health in Chester for almost 15 years.
He enjoyed watching Westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He loved spending time with family and friends. Warren spent many hours looking at the river. He loved all animals. He was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
He was a Korean War Army veteran.
Survivors include three children, Colleen (Richard) Hale of Marble Hill, Missouri, Laurie (Ken) Leffert of Cape Girardeau and Jeff (Brenda) Koehler of Pocahontas, Illinois; sister, Janice Hoening of Belleville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Harry Koehler.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Evergreen Cemetery at Chester, with Minister Roy LeBlanc officiating.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester is in charge of arrangements.
