Waneta Cooper, 88, of Cape Girardeau passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Willard and Cora Bess Adams. She and Peter Cooper were united in marriage on May 26, 1952, and he preceded her in death.
Waneta was a Cubs fan. She worked as a housekeeper for Drury Industries and was a member of the Kingdom Hall for Jehovah's Witnesses in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Craft of O'Fallon, Missouri, Evelyn Grubb of Cape Girardeau, Kimberly (Larry) Compass of Scott City, Dianna Petry of Cape Girardeau, Patty (Jimmy) Hicks, and Veronica Cooper, both of Scott City; one brother, David Adams; and one sister, Wanda Finlow; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter, one brother, seven sisters, two sons-in-law, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall in Cape Girardeau.
Arrangements were under the care of Ford and Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.
