ADVANCE -- Wanda Lee Stephens, 69, of Cahokia, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at Memorial Hospital in St. Clair, Ill.
She was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Arab, daughter of William Franklin and Leafy Cato Rowe. She married Melvis F. Stephens.
Stephens was a member of Abernathy Chapel Church at Arab, Zalma Eastern Star, Harmony White Shrine of Jerusalem in Cahokia, and was an advisor for Rainbow Girls Assembly 12 in Cahokia.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cheryl Simons of Florissant, Michele Bruzina of St. Charles; a brother, Bill Rowe of Maryland Heights; four sisters, Willa "Frankie" Barks of St. Peters, Charlotte Proffer of Jackson, Bonnie Corbin of Sappington, Sandra Davis of St. Johns; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Corbin officiating. Burial will be in New Hope-McGee Cemetery at McGee.
