WYATT, Mo. -- Wanda Colleen Oakley, 82, of Wyatt died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Charleston Manor.
She was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Holland, Mo., to C.F. and Lula Cerrigan Tompkins. She and Marion Oakley were married May 10, 1944.
They moved to Wyatt in 1956 to assume the operation of his family's business, Oakley's Market. In addition to being co-owner and operator of Oakley's Market, she served as Wyatt's city clerk.
She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, and was very active in PTA (Parent-Teacher Association). She was a member of the former Charleston Business and Professional Women's Club, loved to travel and was of Baptist belief.
Survivors include her husband, Marion Oakley of Wyatt; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Wayne and Linda Oakley of Sikeston, Mo., Stanley Walter and Susan Lea Oakley of Scott City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marian Colena "Sissy" and Jim Presson of Charleston, Sandra Kay and Daniel Lee Johnson of Wyatt; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. David Cullen, pastor of Cornerstone Church in Bertrand, Mo., will officiate. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Steven Scott Oakley, Victor James Clayton Eaves, Stanley Timothy Oakley, Jason Rollie Hust, Shea de'Vodrey Johnson, J. Jeffrey Presson, Jim Presson Jr., Steven Caleb Johnson and Steven Brock Oakley.
