ADVANCE, Mo. -- Wanda Lee Cox, 91, beloved wife of Charles Bernard Cox for 69 years, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born to Leo and Ruth Gross Feb. 15, 1930, in Whitewater and was raised on a farm near Whitewater.
She lived a full and happy life surrounded by her immediate family and found great joy in sharing life experiences with her extended family, especially her grand- and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Arbor Baptist Church for many years. She delighted in her many home crafts, including the creation of beautiful quilts for her family, sharing the farm chores and raising horses with Charles, as well as cooking for her family. And, oh my, what a cook!! Who could ever forget her fried chicken and cherry cobbler. Above all, Wanda loved and was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Wanda was preceded in death by Charles; her daughter, Brenda Myers; and her son, Charles Basil Cox.
She is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Terry) Burke of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Bobbie Barber of St. Louis; five grandchildren Cody, Tara, Torie, Brennen and Dara; nine great-grandchildren, Anna, Sophia, Leo, Beya, Grant, Grady, Olivia, Maysun and Kaitlynn; one great-great-granddaughter, Finley; as well as many extended family members.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. Internment following at the Whitewater Cemetery.
