JACKSON -- Walter H. Schwert, 84, of Jackson died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1913, in Browerville, Minn., son of William and Edna Pearl Stull Schwert. He and Wilma J. Wise were married Oct. 5, 1944.
Schwert retired as a machinist from J.I. Case Implement Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 1000 and Disabled American Veterans. He attended Locust Grove General Baptist Church near Marble Hill.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Sadler of Burfordville; two sisters, Marion Smith of Corpus Christi, Texas, Florence Clewett of Atlanta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Shanks officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
