PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Walter F. Schubert, 87, of Perryville died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 7, 1921, in Perry County, Mo., son of Max and Irma Bergmann Schubert. He was married Dec. 25, 1946, to Vivian Schamburg, who died April 29, 1987.
Schubert was a lifetime agriculture and livestock farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, Mo., Lutheran Men's Club, school board, finance committee, church trustee, Farm Bureau and Co-op.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Schubert of Jackson, Albert Schubert of Perryville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Flora Tanz.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Thursday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
