JACKSON -- Walter L. (Ott) Crites, 65, of Jackson, died Tuesday, July 4, 1995, at his home.
He was born July 6, 1929, in Jackson, son of Phillip and Myrtle Hahs Crites. He and Beulah Haupt were married Aug. 31, 1951.
Crites was a meat inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1965-84. Prior to that he had worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and Associated Natural Gas Co.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Brad and Bruce Crites of Poplar Bluff, Brent Crites of Jackson; two daughters, Beverly Rauh and Beth Gohn of Jackson; a brother, Ralph Crites of Tyler, Texas; a sister, Hazel Johnson of Warren, Mass.; six grandchildren, and two stepgrandsons.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Raney officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
