Walter H. Vasterling, 78, of San Diego, Calif., died Wednesday, July 29, 1992, at Pomerado Hospital in Poway, Calif.
He was born Aug. 2, 1913, at Fornfelt, son of Julius and Ida Voges Vasterling. He and Madeline Carr were married June 12, 1936, at Potosi.
Vasterling was reared in Cape Girardeau, and graduated from the University of Missouri. He owned Ford dealerships in Ironton and Fredericktown more than 30 years.
During that time he was a member of Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and active in Boy Scouts. He moved to California in 1987.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Alan Vasterling of Poway; a daughter, Beth Hurdlicka of Del Mar, Calif., and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday in the gazebo at Memorial Park. The Rev. Jerry Statler will officiate, with Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in charge of arrangements.
There is no visitation.
