CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Walter Holman Spence of St. Louis will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sparks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Wiley Reed will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.
Spence, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 1992, at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was formerly of Charleston.
He was born Jan. 14, 1927, in New Madrid, son of George and Dian Holman Spence. He married the former Laverne Nunley.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Walter Spence Jr. of Sikeston, Michael Spence of Charleston, Rodney Spence of Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Jean Pierce and Sharon Riggens of Charleston, Terri Spence of Chicago; 18 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
